Jorge (George) Ochoa, Sr.

Jorge (George) Ochoa, Sr., 88 of McGregor, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, at Cole Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Aviles officiating. Burial to follow in McGregor Cemetery.
Jorge was born on April 23, 1933, to Martin Ochoa Ramirez and Maria Inez Martinez Valdez in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. He was a longtime resident of McGregor, Texas.
Jorge attended Oglesby High School. He married the love of his life, Oralia Aviles in 1962. Jorge worked for Fleetwood Mobile Homes for 10-plus years. He also worked in the feed and grain industry for Oglesby Grain, Inc. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jorge was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Oralia Ochoa; daughter, Maria Inez Ochoa; brothers, Guadalupe Ochoa and Martin Roberto Ochoa.
Survivors include his sons, Alex Nigo and wife, Chela of Dallas, George Ochoa of McGregor, Manuel Ochoa and wife, Janise of McGregor, Mario Ochoa and wife, Debbie of Clifton and Lionel Ochoa of Oglesby; grandchildren: Alex Nigo, III, Melissa Havelka and husband, James, Alex Aviles and wife, Marisela, Roy Ochoa, Crystal Miranda and husband, David, Nanette Ochoa, Jacob Ochoa and wife, Madison, Miranda Ochoa, Janna Ochoa, Mallory Ochoa, Cindy Ochoa, Dillon Shannon and Nicholas Shannon, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Oralia Ochoa de Urrutia, Maria del Carmen Ochoa, brothers, Ricardo Antonio Ochoa, Virgilio Ochoa
Pallbearers: Manual Ochoa, James Havelka, Pedro Ramirez, Luis Herrera, Rogelio Herrera, Eladio Gonzales.
