Lynn Ray Pomerenke

Lynn Ray Pomerenke, 79, of McGregor, passed away on February 9, 2022 in Waco, Texas. Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 in the Crawford Cemetery with the Reverend J.T. Miller officiating. The family received friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, at Cole Funeral Home.

Mr. Pomerenke was born on December 29, 1942 in Waco, Texas to Effie Wilma (Reed) and Alfred Christian Pomerenke, Sr. He was a 1961 graduate of McGregor High School and then went on to graduate from Tyler Junior College and Sam Houston State University and served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. Lynn Ray married Wanda Marie Walter on September 4, 1965, in McGregor and they celebrated over 40 wonderful years together until her death on February 27, 2006. He loved to hunt, fish, work in his vegetable garden but his true love was his family; especially his grandkids.
Mr. Pomerenke was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor and a former member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers; Fred and Alfred Pomerenke, and sisters; Delores “Sis” Johnson and Anita “Nicky” Burgess.

Survivors include his son; Alan Pomerenke and his wife, Sheila of McGregor, daughter; Shellie Rubell and her husband, Marq of Denton, grandchildren; Breanna Pomerenke, Avery Pomerenke and Landry Rubell and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
