PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of McGregor is always in communication with SpaceX regarding rocket engine tests and activities.

Residents likely noticed a reduction in test noise recently as a new vertical Raptor test stand was constructed and modifications completed to assist specifically with noise. About 75% of all Raptor testing occurs on the vertical test stands with water-based acoustic suppression, as opposed to the two horizontal stands.

The noise has returned because the test stand requires repairs and that work will begin tonight, February 11: Multiple SpaceX crews will be working 24/7 to complete the replacement of the flame diverter of the test stand.

SpaceX is aware that the noise generated by engine testing is loud, and is working diligently to correct it as much as they are able. We ask for your patience and support during the next week while the repairs are completed and the vertical stand is operational once again.
