Katherine Gray

Katherine Ann Gray passed on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 86. Katherine was born on her parents’ farm in McGregor, Texas, on September 11, 1939. She was the daughter of Frederick Julius and Lillie (Lippe) Lorenz, Sr. Katherine was a beautician and owned the Modern Beauty Shop. She married her husband, James Edwin Gray, on June 3, 1961.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Frederick Julius Lorenz, Jr. 

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Edwin Gray of Rockwall, Texas, her three sisters, Doris Rinn of Seguin, Ruth Hackfeld of Austin, and Nancy Johnson of San Antonio; her three daughters, Teresa Habecker and her husband Michael of San Diego, California, Gail Bright and her husband Mike of North Richland Hills, and Jill Holland and her husband Donnie of Garland; and lastly, her only grandson, Jayden Bright of Lakewood, Colorado.

Katherine was a talented homemaker and enjoyed traveling, cooking, quilting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom, and her family meant everything to her. She grew up in the Lutheran church and was a lifelong servant of the Lord. Her beautiful, sweet, and caring spirit will be dearly missed.
