Clinton DeChaume

Clinton DeChaume, born March 23, 1954, and a lifelong resident of Crawford, Texas, passed away at his home on April 22, 2026, at the age of 72, surrounded by the love of his life, Susie, and some loved ones.
He was born to Travis and Nora Mae DeChaume and was raised in Osage, Texas, as the fourth of ten children. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1972 and went on to work as a custom farmer, providing hay baling, shredding, and planting services for farmers throughout the area.
Clinton enjoyed playing dominoes, poker, chess, and pool. He was a member of the American Legion Post 273 in McGregor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jim DeChaume; his sister, Mae Smith; and his brother-in-law, Jessie Bishop.
He is survived by Susie; his son, Jason DeChaume of Crawford; his grandsons, Laykes and Trace of Crawford; and Casen Ewing and wife Kelsey of McGregor. He is also survived by his brothers, Booger DeChaume and wife Rose Mary of Crawford, and Johnny DeChaume and wife Barbara of Meridian; and his sisters, Lou Ella Bishop and Patti True of Crawford, Billie DeChaume, Leona McKain and husband Joe, and Connie Woodley and husband Bill of Valley Mills.
A Celebration of Life and visitation was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the American Legion, 202 S. Jefferson, McGregor, Texas
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post 273 in McGregor, Texas, or the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department.
