Group restoring Texas Theatre to host movie night

Les Marshall, President of the Texas Museum of Theatre and Broadcast, the organization that is working to restore the Texas Theatre, places a poster promoting its August 8 back-to-school Movie Night on 3rd Street in front of The Texas. “How to Train Your Dragon” will be the feature film; showtime is at 8 pm. The event is free, and there will be concessions and a food truck selling food and drinks. “We invite families to come out and enjoy the evening and learn more about our plans for the Theater,” Marshall said. He added that a movie has not been promoted at the Texas in over 40 years.
