Della Setser

Della Ann Setser passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, in Waco.

Born in Jackson, Kentucky, Della lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, and Nevada before settling in Texas.

It was in Texas that she discovered her love for gardening, eventually reaching the level of “Master Gardener,” while also becoming a member of the McGregor Garden Club.

While a member, Della helped coordinate the installation of McLennan County’s only Gold Star Memorial, honoring military families who have lost a loved one during active-duty service.

Della was preceded in death by her parents, Omar Jenkins and Margit Hunter, and her husband, Ron Setser.

She is survived by her son, Chris Madura (Jessica); brothers, Robbie (Carol) and Sonny (Lynn) Jenkins; 4-legged daughter, Celine; grandchildren, Scott and Kalynn Madura; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
