MST summer track meet scheduled for Saturday

June 09, 2022

There will be a definite need for speed - and power and leaping ability - this weekend at McGregor High School’s Bulldog Stadium as some of the area’s top athletes get together for the 2022 McGregor Summer Track program stages its annual TAAF track and field meet.

The meet is scheduled to get started at 8 a.m. with the field events. The running events start at 10 a.m. with the grueling 3,200-meter run.

MHS track coach Todd McCauley said the meet is open to all Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation-affiliated athletes.

McCauley said he expects a large crowd on hand for the event. Traditionally, the meet brings in about 2,000 spectators and athletes to McGregor.

The cost for those attending the meet is $5 per athlete and $3 for spectators.

The McGregor Summer Track will have over 120 athletes ranging in age from 5-18, competing.
