Bupsy was born April 29, 1938, in Crawford, Texas, the son of the late Ernest and Laura (Warmke) Luedeker. Bupsy grew up in Crawford with a sister and two brothers and graduated from Crawford High School in 1958. Later that year, on December 24, 1958, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Mason.

During their 64 years of marriage, to be the supportive husband that he was, he worked at Rocketdyne, along with CertainTeed where he worked for over 20 years, as well as a few other companies, where he used his maintenance and management gifts.

Bupsy enjoyed golf, but his favorite hobby was crappie fishing. Through the fishing, he was able to spend memorable times with his dad, brothers, nephews, son, daughter-in-law, wife, and his two grandsons, along with numerous friends. Along with the various memories of the fishing trips, came life lessons with it as he shared personal thoughts and encouragement. The result of these fishing trips brought in blessings of large catches. These material blessings led to a bounty of opportunity for hospitality. Bupsy loved to cook, so there were fish fries for family and friends where his servant’s heart was blessed by seeing others enjoying good company and good food.

Even though Bupsy enjoyed working and serving others, his greatest gift was how he lovingly devoted his time to his family. Through this we saw him taking care of a wife by meeting every one of her needs, from health situations to sharing in joyful occasions. These joyful occasions spent together with his loving wife included special time together, events that his son or grandsons were involved in, family events, and many others.

Bupsy is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Lindsay and wife, Cindy; two grandsons: Mason and wife, Allison, and Ryan; sister, Christine Reich and husband, Marvin; brother, Earl “Bobby” Luedeker and wife, Margaret; brother, LeRoy Luedeker and wife, Donna. He is also survived by numerous nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces and cousins.
